After many years of speculation, Hip-Hop Royalty finally weds on Friday!
After hearing the news that Beyoncé, 26, and Jay-Z, 38, had finally tied the knot, I was determined to find out all I could about the secret and imitate affair.
On Tuesday, marriage buzz began to surface, as the couple was spotted at a village hall in Scarsdale, NY getting a marriage license. Seeming very suspicious at the time, especially as the two were not officially engaged nor had the couple even been talking about the idea of marriage in the close future publically.
Early Friday morning, workers erected a white tent atop of Jay-Z’s apartment building in Tribeca. Boxes of white flowers, along with white checked linens, were delivered to the apartment. Then stacked on the street alongside his building, were also tall silver candelabras. In addition, to all the deliveries and preparations for the big event, waiters were getting ready for the occasion that was set to place at some point that day.
According to PEOPLE, “Amy’s Orchids were hired to provide 50,000 to 60,000 white orchid blooms from Thailand for a ‘big party.’”
Although there is no official confirmation from the newlyweds, or an exact location or time reported, later that day, a wedding ceremony took place. Following the ceremony, a lavish party was held at the rapper’s apartment. Many were spotted entering the apartment building. Among the quests invited, were the bride’s parents, Tina and Matthew Knowles, her sister Solange, and her Destiny’s Child mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. Gwyneth Paltrow and her beau Chris Martin were also spotted.

A source told Us Magazine, that “It was amazing — very special, very private, very intimate.” “Everyone had so much fun. It ended up being a wild party. DJ Cassidy was spinning and people partied until 4:30 a.m.”
Congrats to the newlyweds!!

I’m a bit surprised; I must say. I would have expected the big news to be about their break-up, not their marriage. I know they’re super-private, but sometimes they seem so not into each other.

I was excited to hear that two got married. They were always a “secretive” couple and kept their love life to themselves. They are the only smart people in Hollywood. I was reading in People, a couple of days after the wedding Jay Z was in one of his clubs (40/40), and one source said “Congratulations on getting married.” Jay Z responds with “I don’t know what you are talking about.” Which I thought was a little weird why he won’t actually confirm on being married. It took a while for them to get married, but it’s about TIME!

I’m surprised they actually got married as well. It definitely seems like they’ve been dating for quite some time though…as far as Hollywood relationships go. I guess we’ll see how long the marriage lasts.

I was actually really happy when I heard the news. I just wish they would have made it more public. I mean, not like a show or anything, but at least released some pictures. I would have loved to have seen her wedding dress. I bet it was gorgeous!

This news totally shocked me! I can definitely understand why they would want to keep it so private, though. For such a special time in your life, who wants paparazzi and crazed fans running all over the place?

Yeah the news was pretty shocking to me too. Its pretty hard to find a Hollywood couple these days that will last though. Everytime I am at my girlfriends house and pick up a magazine, all I ever see is gossip in Hollywood about whose breaking up with who. I bet Jay-Z and Beyonce are one rich couple!

I for one am glad that they finally tied the knot. I’m tired of reading about them in magazines. Every magazine seems to know “all the details” about a marraige that hadn’t even happened yet. When really, no one really knew anything. They did a pretty good job of keeping it on the DL! Glad its over and done with. Now there is more room in the tabloids for Brit. (haha). =]
